Description

The WILDPEAK A/T3W is engineered for adventure, any time and in any weather. The A/T3W combines aggressive off-road ability and rugged terrain driving without compromise on the pavement. An optimized tread design combined with a silica tread compound enable the A/T3W to excel in three areas: wear, winter, and wet performance. Designed for severe snow conditions, every A/T3W tire is qualified by the Rubber Manufacturers Association for the Three Peak Mountain Snow Flake (3PMSF) symbol. The A/T3W is packed with technology, from Falken’s patented 3D Canyon Sipes to an all-new proprietary lower sidewall. Full-depth sipes and grooves maintain consistent performance and appearance throughout the life of the tire.

Features

    All-terrain, any-weather rugged capability. Rim Width Range-7.5 - 9.5

Heat diffuser technology in the lower sidewall dissipates heat to protect the internal tire components. Keeping this critical area of the tire cool ensures vehicle stability even when towing or carrying heavy loads.

3D Canyon sipe technology interlocks the shoulders to resist wear from high torque as well as providing additional handling stability.

Rugged and rigid tread blocks feature support ramps and step-down features that provide tread-pattern rigidity in the contact patch, enhancing vehicle stability and handling while also preventing stones from becoming trapped in the grooves.

Aggressive upper sidewall along with offset shoulder blocks protect the tire from sharp rocks and provide additional off-road traction at low tire pressures or in off-camber situations.

These showed up quicker than I expected and what was quoted. These tires look good. Are not noisy at all. I got these 4 and installed cheaper than getting similar tires that are the same milage and features.I put the Falkens in 275/55R20s on my 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie Sport to replace the factory Bridgestone Duelers which came when I purchased the truck after 20k miles. I aired the tires to the same levels I'd used in the Bridgestones - 38 psi for the front tires and 36 psi for the rear tires. In comparing the Falken to the stock Bridgestone Duelers, there's really not much of a comparison. If your preference is more of a street truck tire, you may not like the look of the Falkens. But outside of looks, the Falkens perform far better.Immediately I could observe far better grip and performance in rain, acceleration from a stop and of course traction off the road, whether in 4x2 or 4x4. All the intersections and routes I typically travel in a day were improved in the Falkens. A non-scientific test was driving with my children and whether my driving was making them carsick. The grip on pavement within speed limits on straight roads, turns, at stops and over bumps were all materially better for them - less lean and less being tossed around over road imperfections or around turns. There was much less complaining from the second row.I don't rock crawl or drive in any extreme terrain, but for grass, hills and driving on the beach, they perform great. I'm hoping the same will be true in the winter for snow and hazardous weather. I even drove into mud and the Falkens had no issue getting out.Another easy test was highway driving. I am very sensitive to road noise and vibration in general, and the Falkens were for certain on a par with the Bridgestone Duelers. They may have been slightly more quiet, but I didn't go so far as to test the sound levels in the truck while cruising. Either way, they pass the sniff test. The cherry on the cake was the pricing from Amazon - I tried a couple local shops to see if they'd match Amazon's price, but all said the price I paid was less than their wholesale price.Bottom line - are there better all terrain tires out there in the light truck category? Probably - truck owners are loyal to their brands and passionate about how those products perform and tune and tweak every aspect of their truck. Friends with all terrain tires said I was throwing money away if I didn't get BFGoodrich KO2s or Nitto Grapplers (and in more exotic sizes than the stock 275/55R20s my truck came with). But, the best prices on those tires were 30-40% more (even from other internet sources) in the same size, and a 5-15% performance improvement didn't (for me anyway) justify the cost. I would argue most people feel the same. This is my second set if wildpeaks. They look great, ride smooth, good in rain, snow, on beach driving. 275/55r20. They arrived in 1 day! The odot code shows they were only about 6 months old. Mounted and balanced today and no issuesIt's been a year now and I gotta say after seeing a few of the reviews I was skeptical about these tires. I bought the road hazard insurance just in case from the tire installation company I use, and it's a good thing I did and not because the tire turn out to be weak, Instead because where I drive there are hazards everywhere and I suffered a side wall puncture. The tires them self handle road and rough terrain equally well. A little nose but nothing compared to other AT tires. I'd say I've now got 40 K on them and have lots of tread to keep going. These aren't speed tires, so if you have a heavy foot they may not last as long. I've found them to be well worth the price.275/55R20 on 2017 Chevrolet Silverado. Just had them put on a few days ago so this review might not mean much. I wrote the review to say these are the best value you can get for these tires. They normally go for $210 a tire so I was a bit worried but they are fine. They ride like an AT and look amazing. 4 stars because I am unsure of mileage.Update: over the last couple of months I drove through some heavy rain storms and these are the best. I did not lose traction even at highway speeds. Definitely keep them rotated for even wear.I have put about 5,000 miles on these so far and I am satisfied. They have been a significant improvement from my previous tires, in all conditions. Riding them through fall and winter in Northern MN has put them to the test. They will traverse wet tar and concrete without concern. 10 inches of wet MN snow feels like a dusting. The only issue I have encountered is the significant decrease in traction at -20F or colder, but that is likely expected from any tire. I have them on a 1500 Silverado crew cab and they look slick on top of the great performance. No wear is visible at this point so I can't note on wear patterns.Loved the look of these on my Yukon XL, but I pull a light 12’ enclosed trailer about once a month and it seems the sidewalls aren’t holding up so good. As far as the ride, it’s very comfortable. The look is just a little aggressive, but not overly a M/T tire. I’d buy again.Bought for use on my 2017 GMC Sierra extended cab at a great price. Softer than they look which equates to a comfortable ride. Havn't taken offroad yet. Rugged and aggressive appearance. Just installed so mileage rating has yet to be determined. My last set were BFG A/T, and so far I like these better.
